Straighten Your Smile Your Way

While traditional braces have long been the most popular method for straightening your teeth, many patients at Elizabeth Blake Orthodontics want to explore the range of other options to see which one works for their lifestyle. With each option, there are a number of pros and cons that you must take into consideration.

During your first visit to Elizabeth Blake Orthodontics, Dr. Blake and Dr. Peluso will guide you through each treatment option and help you determine which one is best for your smile goals.

Know The Difference: Fixed vs. Removable

With four different treatment options, there are a lot of differences to discuss. One of the most obvious differences is between fixed and removable appliances.

Metal braces, clear braces, and lingual braces are all fixed appliances that will remain in the same position for the duration of your treatment process. Fixed aligners are generally the best option for more severe orthodontic cases.

Clear aligners are the only removable appliance that Elizabeth Blake Orthodontics offers. Aligner trays are worn for 20-22 hours per day, and can be removed at mealtimes, during sports, and while brushing and flossing. This option is the best for patients with mild to moderate orthodontic problems.
